Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address and message. If you email or call us, we receive whatever information you choose to share.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting and security providers process technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, so the site can be delivered and protected. If you allow analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the site, such as pages viewed, time on page, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.
We don’t ask for sensitive information through the site, and we ask that you don’t include it in your messages.
How we use information
- To respond to your inquiries and discuss the services you ask about.
- To operate, maintain and secure the website, including preventing spam and abuse.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it, when you’ve allowed analytics cookies.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you’re in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on your consent for analytics and marketing cookies; on our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving our website and replying to messages; and on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies, grouped as follows:
- Necessary: required for the site to work securely, such as protecting our contact form against spam (Google reCAPTCHA) and remembering your cookie choices. These are always on.
- Analytics: Google Analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors use the site. These are only set if you allow them.
- Marketing: Google advertising features, such as Google Signals, that provide aggregated audience insights. These are only set if you allow them.
When you first visit, optional cookies are off. You can accept, reject or customize them in the cookie banner, and change your choice at any time with the “Cookie Settings” link at the bottom of every page. We use Google Consent Mode, so if you decline, Google’s tags don’t set analytics or advertising cookies; Google may still receive basic cookieless signals, such as that a page was viewed, which it uses only in aggregate. We treat the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a request to opt out of marketing cookies.
How we share information
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run our business and website, under terms that limit how they can use it, including:
- Website hosting and content delivery (Craft Cloud and Cloudflare)
- Email delivery for contact form notifications (Mailtrap)
- Analytics and tag management (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager), with your consent
- Spam and abuse protection (Google reCAPTCHA)
- Web fonts (Google Fonts), which receive your IP address when fonts load
Google’s use of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy, and you can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
How long we keep information
We keep contact form submissions and related correspondence for as long as we need them to respond to you and to manage any resulting business relationship, and then delete or anonymize them unless we must keep them for legal reasons. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention period set in our Google Analytics account.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw your consent at any time (this won’t affect processing that happened before you withdrew it). You can change your cookie choices at any time with the “Cookie Settings” link.
California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We don’t sell personal information. If you allow marketing cookies, Google advertising features may count as “sharing” under California law; you can opt out by declining marketing cookies or turning on Global Privacy Control. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email hello@sunnybyte.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. If you’re in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
International transfers
We’re based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, these transfers rely on safeguards offered by our providers, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
Our website isn’t directed to children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
